Goon Vishwas Tripathi and one other shot dead in gang rivalry

UJJAIN: Hardcore criminal Vishwas Tripathi alias Lala and one other died whereas four others sustained bullet injuries as members of two rival groups opened fire in Ujjain on Sunday night, triggering scare in the area.
Sources said the incident occurred near Navdurga temple on busy Ramghat Road. Report said bullet hit at chest of Lala and passed through the body.SP M S Verma said One Ravi Pachori had also died. Four others, including Babla, Ajay and Rohit, ashish Dubey suffered bullet injuries and are undergoing treatment.Condition of Award is also stated to be critical.
Sessions court convicted Lala in the murder case of Nunnu guru over an election rivalry but was granted bail from Indore bench of high courted later. He was also accused in loot, fake passport, extortion cases. Lala had fought the assembly elections too and had been a member of UMC council on Congress ticket in the past. The SP said police forces have been deployed at various points in the city in view of the incident.
